I recently had the pleasure of photographing Dumais Made’s new collection, “Modern Bohemia,” inspired by the charm of Litchfield, Connecticut. This small town, though mostly known for its colonial architecture, also boasts a remarkable mid-century design scene.
Dumais Made’s founders, who transitioned from Manhattan to Litchfield, highlighted how the town’s unique architectural blend, particularly the works of Marcel Breuer, has influenced their artistry.
During the shoot, I focused on capturing the collection’s essence: the balance between the disciplined slab-building techniques and the natural softness of clay. Each piece tells a story, reflecting the creators’ connection to the architecture and rich design heritage of the area.
In every photograph, I aimed to capture this essence, inviting viewers to experience the “Modern Bohemia” collection as a reflection of both Dumais Made’s journey and the vibrant community they now call home. I’m thrilled to share these images with you, showcasing the perfect blend of modern design and classic New England charm.
